CM of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis has announced an ambitious housing scheme for Policeman, Mill workers & Tribal of the state under Maharashtra Housing Scheme. Government aims to allot houses to eligible candidates by the year 2022 & a plan has been prepared for families living in transit camps. Around 3.4 lakh houses have been approved so far to implement Maharashtra Awas Yojana in the state out of which 25,000 units have been constructed.

Maharashtra Police & Mill Worker Housing Scheme

  • In addition to provide houses to Policeman & Mill workers, government would avail financial aid to families belonging to SC/ST, Minority & OBC. Rs. 1.5 lakh will be available to them. Maharashtra Awas Yojana will be implemented in both rural & urban areas.
  • Affordable dwelling units under Ramai Gharkul Yojana & Shabari Gharkul Yojana will be given to families having annual income of Maximum Rs. 1 lakh. As per Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Yojana, Rs. 50,000/- will be given to buy land for the construction of house.
  • Shabari Awas Yojana: 25,000 units of houses have been approved in previous year out of which 2,000 houses have been constructed.

CM proposed to implement Maharashtra Housing Scheme in 243 cities while it has been implemented in 142 cities, mentioned below:
